Heavy Heart for a Special Friend
Day 325
March 25, 2014
Team Zybko

She is super special to me.  I assume with confidence she feels the same about me. Despite the fact we have spent minimal time together over the years I feel her pain like an unexpected knife stab through the chest.

We have never sat down for lunch, been to each others houses or even know what the other one takes in their coffee. Strangely enough those tiny facts don't matter with a heart friend. Completely irrelevant.

We have shared smiles, stories, prayer requests and have happily discussed how God is working in our lives during our brief passings at the gym. I even loved the name Scarlett as a choice while pregnant with Delilah, not starting with a "D" this obviously wouldn't have worked out. Darn.

I always looked forward to running into her several times a week. A quick hug, wave or shout out from this lady while teaching water aerobics, shaking my hips to PitBull or a southern car honk in the parking lot of McLeod would push itself to a high light of my day.

With that being said Scarlett, my heart is so heavy for your loss. The death of your husband and best friend, a man loved by so many. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around you tightly in the coming days and weeks and more importantly in the unbelievable moment in time right now. A place of grief where seconds seem to stand still in a sad mind and body full of shock.

Our God is good my friend, His love is never ending. He has not left the building, even now as you walk blindly in search of peace about it all. I pray Scarlett He gives you strength, understanding and the necessary earthly angles to love on you as He guides you through this valley. I love you dearly and so many of us our lifting you up.

1 Chronicles 6:11
Look to the Lord and His strength
Seek His face always.

The Tooth Fairy Be Broke
Day 324
March 23, 2014
Team Zybko

So I have this "friend" you see.... it ain't her first rodeo at this whole tooth fairy thing but she acts more like a rookie mom these days.  Psshhh, I mean......of course a veteran mom would have acquired certain tricks to store in the back pocket of her jam jamz and to always and I mean always have small bills on hand during the wiggly, bloody gummed years between 5-8. This experienced mom walks with excitement infused with a touch of fear at the possibility of falling asleep before her duties are completed. Who can afford a BIG FAT black "X" on their permanent record these days? Not me.

  I'm not judging her or anything but geez, from the story she just told me I believe she has hit rock bottom. A sleepy 6 year old with a new hole in her smile has the expectation of an overnight paycheck but she, the made up friend had no cash. Eeekkkk. What to do, what to do. Get dressed and rush to an ATM? No way, then I.....I mean she would have to stop at the local 7-11 to break the $20 bill and nobody got time for that. Although a Coke Slurpee and a batch of midnight nachos sounds really good right now.

Hhhhmmm....search the house for rogue coins, dip into Baby Daddy's collection of wheat pennies? No...no...no...too noisy and darn, I did that last week to pay for a much needed late afternoon latte. No whip, that would have been extra.
Last resort, borrow from the toothless child's piggy bank and vow to pay her back. Yes, my friend actually admitted the tooth fairy stole money from her very own child to pay her very own child for doing nothing more than allowing a tooth to fall out of her face. The child that could care less about any amount of money in this season of her life. {{{Wait, is this wrong or is it genius?}}}

 She even bragged about having the smarts to enlist an older more awake sibling to fill in for this particular shift. Now, I have to admit, this mom right here who has been around the block more times than she cares to say is gonna steal that last idea, for sure.

Spring Break Sister Bonding
Day 323

Loosing teeth
Braces on teeth
Already straightened teeth

As  I sit in my favorite comfy green chair staring at the screen of my hand me down laptop I find myself speechless. I'm sensing a bout of emotional writers block coming on. Similar to the allergy induced stuffy noses of the kids my lack of words are are stuck. Snot and literary ideas alike held hostage, no amount of blowing, thinking or Benadryl will help. My blank brain in full bloom.

I know what I'm trying to say.
These sisters have something special.

 I LOVE these girls.
 I LOVE they are each in totally different stages of life.
I LOVE how they enjoy each other.
I LOVE the nothingness they do together is actually everything.
I LOVE  they are real with each other.
I LOVE the triangle of learning flows top to bottom and in reverse.
I LOVE they are willing to serve each other.
I LOVE the examples set.
I LOVE the standards amongst them.

So I'm done, this post is what it is, that's all I got for now.
No more back spacing or deleting huge hunks of text. No worries, cause we all know that pictures tell a thousand words.

Jumpy Pictures Will Always be Cool!
Day 322
March 22, 2014
Team Zybko

I'm sure my love for out of date picture poses is awkwardly obvious to the super hip social media peeps.
I. Just. Can't. Help. It.
I like what I like. Yes kids, I realize jumpy pictures are so last season but they make me smile almost as much as my worn in high waisted mom jeans and dusty VHS tapes of Toy Story.
Thanks for giving me your all. You too Bryson, and I'm so glad you didn't fly away in that last frame.

Hanging Out With King David
Psalm 63
Day 321
March 20, 2014
Team Zybko

Psalm 63
O God, you are my God,
   earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
    my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
     where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.

I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest
    of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of
the night.

Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

They who seek my life will be destroyed;
    they will go down to the depths of the earth.
They will be given over to the sword
    and become food for the jackals.

But the king will rejoice in God;
all who swear by God's name will praise him,
while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

Easy Food "Craft" EVERYONE Can Do
Day 320
March 19, 2014
Team Zybko

Which One of these statements is true?
A) I once ate part of a Dove Ice Cream chocolate bar off a pool deck floor. (A very clean, I'm sorta sure had  recently been disinfected non-wet pool floor, FYI)

B) I have never logged onto to Pinterest or Instagram. (One social media addiction is enough)

C) I have peed in the shower. (More than once)

D) I asked Baby Daddy for a little help in trimming my mustache. (Don't judge, aging hormones do tricky things people)

HA! You thought I was going to reveal the answer. No way Jose, truly that's too much info for the Internet. Hi mom! As a consolation prize you should try this cool fruity fun!

I saw this on a friends Face Book wall as I whipped through my news feed the other day. No baking, hot glue gun, pip cleaners or multicolored sparkles needed. Easy cheesy. One sharpie eyeball,  half a banana and a steady soccer mom hand for a careful slice-a-roo to the slippery, hard stem.  So easy even a caveman or a Pinterest reject could do this food "craft". So I did, this morning. The kids were pleasantly surprised to see their fruit bowl take on a new life.
