365 RANDOM DAYS OF TEAM ZYBKO
DAY#118
APRIL 18, 2012
EASTER AFTERNOON AT THE BEACH
This particular day trip to the beach started like any other family excursion. A fully stacked cooler, youthful excitement and a few crazy songs made up during a Father/Daughter rap off. Oh yea. On the way to seek some love from the sun, sharks teeth and rare shells. A natural high for sure. Thankfully the 80 minute car ride seems to fly by, slowed down only by a few small sibling squabbles, empty chip bags and pee pee breaks.
No worries, Baby Daddy scores a front row spot, he's pro at that. The happiest most stoked kid jumps out of the van and waits patiently. The rest of the family lags behind his excitement train, takes us longer to catch up, get situated and head to the surf. Drexel craves the beach like I crave a large ice dreams from Chic-Fi-La. If it was anyway up to him he would move to the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina not Charlotte, North Carolina.
Within minutes of marking our square spot of sand Dylan feels the need to go Were Wolf. He claims the feeling or urge comes on with out a moments notice. If you have never witnessed this strange teenager way of behaving in public....you are missing out. Really? No , not really. Although I must admit it makes me love my parents more and more. Believing more than ever the old saying;
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
It's no mystery as to why I was the last kid they had.
Running Bay Watch style into the early April waves. Only minutes later he decides the water is way too cold to look cool in front of the girls. This tough Were Wolf asks for a warm fresh towel and cancels his informal surfing plans for later. Apparently Easter at the beach brings out some interesting characters, not just mine. Scroll down and enjoy.
Yo dude, where are you from?
Electric guitar, clip on amp, interesting hair styles equals a lonely walk
