Hot History Scummy Ponds and Philly Cheese Steaks

Hot History
Scummy Ponds and Philly Cheese Steaks
Day #65
June 30th, 2013
Team Zybko

Somewhere on 95 we hit a wall, not literally but figuratively. We were all more than willing to evacuate the already messy, slightly smelly prison van for a little lunch. I love me some Philly Cheese Steaks so I was all over this spontaneous Philedelphia detour en route to New York. Baby Daddy had a different set of priorities on his mind. Learning before lunch. Bummer. I go with him side by side on the mid day hot family field trip trying to remember to talk over my growling stomach.

$2 replicas of both the Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution were bought along with picking up a free, flimsy, tri-folded tour guide pamphlet. First stop, Ben Franklin's grave sight. Not exactly on my "must-do" list in this city but my snarkiness was definitely low blood sugar provoked. Delilah must have sensed something from her hungry momma as she lagged behind the pack, holding onto my shirt in hopes I would pick her up, saving her from extra steps in the heat. I promise her a cold drink soon and gently remind her she is a big girl, five and a half now.

I felt the way she looked.
Her big brown eyes droopy and circled with exhaustion.
But mommy, I am super sweaty and so tired.
Why do we have to walk around so much?
Cause that's what you have to do to learn,
History is everywhere we go here La-La.
Well it's hot history mom.

An Un-Employed Zumba Instructor
Day #64
June 29th, 2013
Team Zybko

Un-employed, from the best part time gig I have ever had. This job doesn't keep the family afloat and running, it does however do something magical in a big amazing way. It gives me a natural high with out fail. Every class, from warm up to cool down while bouncing around inside the walls of an air conditioned gym. A feeling like no other, a work out spike of endorphins money simply can't buy.

The people I have met through McLeod Group Fitness are irreplaceable. What a wonderful kick butt side effect of happy healthy living, loving what you do, sticking to an exercise plan and looking forward it. Relationships that go home with you, past the automatic front doors of the lobby into your SUV, into your day to day life and into your heart forever.

Who would have thunk it can work that way, a camaraderie that begins with a smile, a shimmy, a shake and a million high fives. Once the stereo pumps out its first 8 count, it's go time, we are all in this together. A bit hard to explain the strong human bond that comes from shoulder to shoulder dancing, jumping at your own level, grape vining left and right for almost an hour, any time of day. Doing all this beside a friend you may or may not know yet,  sweat dropping off noses and running down hiney cracks. Good stuff. If you don't know what I'm talking about check out a class and cross it off your life list. Even if you have 3 left feet and what you perceive as no rhythm, it honestly makes no difference. Tie up your Nike's, pull on a good attitude and find a spot. Front, back or hidden in the middle. No problem, there is a place for every type of personality in studio 1.

This last week teaching aerobics at McLeod was one of the best. All the regulars in their official, non official spot, new faces and fellow instructors soon to take over the classes you currently call your own. In my efforts to stretch out my time of employment and fuel my denial I go a little camera crazy. I do feel a bit weird uploading so many pictures of my goofy face on this post but I push through the me me me to show off the Zumba peeps that give me such joy.

Loud music, juicy hugs from happy faces and a basket full of sharpied bananas help take my mind off reality.
Until next time McLeod, keep moving and grooving.
Thank you for everything.
Y'all are the best!
