2 More Days Til the Big Day
Day 130 -Year 3
Team Zybko
April 30, 2015
Oh my word, only 2 more days. How could that be?
A few weeks ago the kids and I excitedly made a count down chart for the upcoming happy 'Save the Date Day' just to keep on track. But at the time, they were merely numbers and nice words written on cut up pieces of paper plates, strung together with twine.
A few weeks ago the kids and I excitedly made a count down chart for the upcoming happy 'Save the Date Day' just to keep on track. But at the time, they were merely numbers and nice words written on cut up pieces of paper plates, strung together with twine.
But now, now its actually go time.
The minuscule number of days left have taken form, come to life in a big way. Hurried thoughts, last minute details, to-do lists and strange emotions are all bumping around together, fighting for space and creating a crazy mess of my mind and heart.
I text a friend
My heart is hyperventilating, I can't breathe.
I set my two students on some reading work, quiet stuff that doesn't require a teachers attention or wisdom. I need a minute, a Twix kinda minute to breathe and sort everything out. If that is even possible, I'm worried it's not.
This is new territory for me. A kid getting married. Who ever thought I'd be old enough for that? Right, me either.
I get it though, deep down I really do, it is how life works.
Babies are born, they grow up, they get married, they have babies, your hair turns grey, you remember the good ole days, you sit and talk about the weather and then you die. Too dark?
OK, I will try again.
Babies are born, they are a joy to raise, they mature becoming their own people, they fall in love, they plan a wedding, they live happily ever after......
But where does leave a momma?
She wonders how the days are long but the years are fast, she steals a few minutes to blog, she tries to express unknown feelings of joy and happiness she doesn't truly understand, she attempts to put them in words, instead she sits and smiles knowing that Diane and Michael compliment each other 100%, she relies on faith, she trusts God and His arranged marriage, she ignores the 'things' on her list but instead she breathes in and out, she thanks God for the many blessings her life especially this daughter and soon to be son-in law.
Breathe in....Breathe out...Breathe in.....Breathe out
Hee-Hee-Hee-HO HO
My heart feels less cluttered already, leaving room for the good stuff.

OK, we so got this thang people.
Diane and Michael, it is going to be a wonderful day to celebrate your love and lifelong commitment to each other. We are all anxious in the best way possible for the time to finally come.
Love you both to the Church and back.
