One Advantage of a BIG CITY
There Is ALWAYS Something To Do!
Day 220
December 10, 2013
Team Zybko

Sorry to my College Football fan friends but I had no idea that a huge championship game was scheduled to be played a mere 23 and a 1/2 minutes from my house. Not a clue. What teams are in it anyway? Sorry again. The people with their faces painted blue are pulling for Duke right honey? Oh, wait wait wait I know that one...the Blue Devils right? My Wolf Packing Baby Daddy's response ......yea, but who cares? Just kidding....that would be rude.

Big cities have more to offer than just a ton of traffic and fast moving people, you simply need to see what's out there. It's as easy as logging onto the Internet and letting your fingers do the walking. There you will find a laundry list of events, festival, museums and activities to go to, on any given weekend. The Queen city of Charlotte is no different, this Big-Little city is certainly growing on me one crowded loop drive around 485 at a time. There is ALWAYS something to do. Penny pincher's and college students, don't forget to keep scrolling down the list, the free stuff is usually at the bottom.

With no obligations til much later in the day we decide to rev up, to kick it up a notch and actually do something with the day. We switch gears quickly from lazy Saturday morning to adventure gear in less than 20 minutes flat. A family record, a personal best indeed. We finish our crispy bacon, change out of jammies and hop in the mini van and head for the city. Downtown Charlotte or Bust! We are on a mission for adventure, in search of fun and happy memories for the scrap book titled....Our New Home.

No sun but no rain either. The weather wasn't perfect but definitely tolerable as we walked around the busy streets enjoying the sparkly Christmas decorations around every corner. In between a free Sara Evans concert, smiling at enthusiast fans and eating samples from a Food Lion cook off we still has lots to do. Like people watch, climb on walls, stare through fancy bakery windows, make funny faces in over sized ornaments and drink a rivers worth of free Dr. Pepper just to name a few. The kids also loved receiving a ton of somewhat useless plastic stuff with various business logos smacked boldly on the front. No, Delaney we do not need another pair of cheap sunglasses that will certainly soon die a slow death on the dirty floorboard of the car. Those things more than likely will not make a page in the record books but a 100 percent chance it will hit the shelves of Good Will within the week.

Thank you to the city of Charlotte and Fan Fest organizers for a great afternoon in the city.
