Snaps of Real Life~Day 1

Colorado Family Vacation
Day 240 ~ Year 3
Team Zybko
June 25, 2018

Colorado mountain weather was rainy and a bit chilly for the first day of our family vacation but that didn’t stop us from squeezing in some fun between the heavy, dark clouds.

With an active fire ban in the area the locals were much appreciative of the precipitation while it also forced us into a slow start while acclimating to 9,000 feet elevation.

Altitude sickness ain't no joke people.

If you laced a Christmas Party hangover with a sinus infection and this beast got together and had a baby with the flu with a sprinkle of first trimester morning sickness, yes, this is what altitude sickness feels like. Oddly enough this is information is NOT found on Google while researching at easy cheesy seal level on your couch prior to your dream trip to the mountains.

Seriously though, please don’t let that stop you from experiencing this magical outdoor playground, the symptoms of hell should only last a day or two.

As the week activities progressed I found it harder and harder to remember all the cool adventures and good times, big and small that we experienced each day. Not wanting my middle aged brain to forget anything I finally resorted to messy, ball point pen scribbles on my planner before slipping away into a deep, cozy sleep each night. Documented here in bullet points accompanied with pictures, mostly for my sake, as reminder down the road what an A plus plus of a time we really had.
