BOYS RULE

Live Life Today
Embrace Your Inner 9 Year Old Boy
Day 75-Year 3

November 7, 2014

There is something special about 9 year old boys. There just is.
Surely it can be a bit hard to pin point exactly what that special is if you aren't paying attention or stay completely annoyed. Through the mud, excitement, ADD tendencies and bad rap these little guys sometimes get, it may put you off at first. BUT...if you take the time to observe and study, even for a few minutes you would soon realize we could all learn a lesson from them. I know I have.  Especially when you have a day down in the dumps or not quite right day, their attitude and outlook on life can put any problem or irritation on the back burner.

These little fiery bundles of energy seem to have the ability to make fun no matter where they go, no matter what the circumstances are and no matter who is watching.

Running, bouncing, investigating, climbing, poking and laughing. Squeezing every single ounce of joy out of...well everything and anything their wide eyes and growing hands encounter. They aren't afraid of looking silly or getting messy.
110 percent. 100 percent of the time. Period.

May I embrace my inner 9 year old boy today.

I vow to live the numbered hours of today like the world around me is my playground and one humongous hands-on museum. In between my mom duties may I remember to pick up interesting clumps of clay, laugh til my sides hurt, make animal shapes out of big puffy clouds, ride on shopping carts and throw skipping type rocks into a puddle. Yes, today, I will play and enjoy life like a 9 year old boy! I can't wait. What a great excuse reason to go to Target. I am looking forward to happily jumping over the huge red stone balls surrounding the entrance instead of boringly walking around. Phessh....only soccer moms take that route.
Today is gonna be great!

Below are some other examples captured on my iPhone during random acts of boyhood.
