Thought We Could Outrun the Storm

Thought we should ride to the Y pool for exercise
        it was, a good mini work out for the morning.

Thought it would be an adventure
        it was, we found a new park hidden in the woods.

Thought the pool would be refreshing by the time we got there
       it was, cool and delightful.

Thought soaking up extra time at the water slides was prudent
      it was, until the dark clouds rolled in fast.

Thought we could make it home before the sky fell
       we didn't.

Thought we might get struck by lighting
        we didn't.

Thought we'd have bruises from the hard mini paintball rain drops
        we didn't.

Thought we were making fun memories
       we were!
