What We do When The Kids Are Away
Day #357
April 9th, 2013
365 Random Days of Team Zybko

A common response after I am asked how old our kids are:
Oh, how nice for you all, built in baby sitters.
Uh, well....not really.

The upper stooges are now 20, 19 and 18. Growed up. Not all the way but most of the way, right around the corner to 100%independent adulthood. Putting themselves through school, working and being away without major troubles.
I love this picture of them, hands down my favorite. Seems like a lifetime ago, a place in time before the lower stooges started arriving on the scene. Over 11 years ago. Whew that was fast.
None of us had any idea how are lives would change by
adding 3 more to this picture.
Baby Daddy and I tried hard not to take advantage of the age gap situation by using them as live in babysitters.
Although, keep in mind, answers may vary if you ask them directly.

Over the years.....
Have they changed a diaper or two?
Have they watched them while I run to Sam's for some milk?
Have they taught them cool stuff cause we aren't cool enough?
Have they kept them safe while Baby Daddy and I go on a date?
YES
YES
YES
and
YES....and more.

At times it surely makes life easier to have the older kids help out. They cannot be replaced.
The younger kids look forward to special time with them.
Asking continually when they will be over and when college break weekends will be here.
So, when the question was purposed....
.
Do you think it would be OK to take the
little kids to the beach overnight?

Well I don't Diane, let me think about....
YES!

While you were away this is the sorta crazy stuff  old people do.

Thank you Elly for these pictures from a few weekends ago. Actually, real life footage from this past weekend with out any kids would certainly not be appropriate anyway.
Running through the house naked and all.

HA! In all honesty it would be too boring to viewers. Egg white omelets from a now smoke free Waffle house, a trip to Home depot for parts to fix a closet door, sleeping late and an early movie at the theatre with no popcorn. Yep, totally that exciting people.

Thank you older kids for the opportunity to spend some relaxing quality time with Daddy.
