10 Practical Tips For Real Moms



Shave your armpits every time you shower,
 whether you need to or not.
Some seasons are a bit more hygienically challenging.
Don't be caught off guard.


Teach the kids to handle a cup of hot liquid with grace and safety as soon as possible.
Appropriate ages will vary from child to child. 
Coffee delivered bedside with a proud smile makes my morning Joe taste like genius-ness.

Keep baby wipes on your shopping list.
If your budget allows for these expensive, disposable, thin washcloths, you won't regret the choice.
Useful on any age hiney and job. Big or small. 

Play with your children whole heartedly,
whatever stage they are in.
It won't be the demise of family discipline to
 act 8 years old for 8 minutes.
Master the perfect cannonball. Participate in freeze tag. Ride a tricycle down a big hill. Be a competitor in Candy Land and Uno.
Just some options, do your own thing. The kids LOVE this time. 

Hand your camera over to the kids for a few hours.
You will be amazed what they think is picture worthy.

Create a pajama read-in/ movie day into the family traditions.
Any time of the year. Mark it on your calendar. 
Don't schedule a thing except comfort,
 together time, peace and quiet.
NOW doesn't that sound dreamy. 

Keep a snack pack in your vehicle.
Chewy bars, crackers, fruit and even peanut butter with spoons.
This may sound messed up to neat/car people, I know.
Keeping these items stocked have saved the 
low blood sugar day a million times.
Plus, we always have something to give if we come across someone hungry and in need as we drive through town. 

Store a stack of ready to go stamped envelopes
next to your address book.
Makes it that much easier to send a little snail mail love.

Open up a box of wipey markers with an open mind.
Let the kids create a masterpiece on a window or sliding glass door. Give them no specific directions, only to have fun.
 This time will allow you to take a quick power nap.

Have your spouse hide a pound of coffee in the house.
Running out is not pretty. When this happens all the tips listed above will not help.
