Dumping Drexel in the Woods
Day 194
November 19, 2013
Team Zybko

Drexel didn't have to think twice after receiving an invitation from Michael to hang out in the woods for a day or so. The great outdoors and Diane's great boyfriend are two of his favorite things in this 8 year old boys world. The quickly, scribbled list of to-do's was super stacked and filled with a million cool manly adventures. Even a few first timers like shooting a gun and driving a tractor.
Mom, I gotta go pack, I gotta go pack.
You need to finish your math and journal first.
Drexel's school work immediately jumped into a higher, faster gear to get it over with. After all the excited 3rd grader was anxious to get his gear together for the overnight excursion. Pocket knife, bow and arrows, flash light, thick pants to protect from thorns, a few sharks teeth, his favorite rock and a suitable walking stick.
How about a change of underwear Drex?
Mom, I'm just thinking of the really important stuff at first.

His parents house is located on a beautiful, peaceful patch of land in the middle of good ole South Carolina, USA. Before completing a traditional dump and go I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures and spending a few long minutes to enjoy the simple sounds of nature. Crickets, crickets, crickets and and the rustling of an overly torqued up golden retriever that didn't stop showing off for one second.

A guided tour from the back of a Ford pick up truck on a cloudy yet warm Friday afternoon was just what I needed to wrap up the busy week. Fall colors with out the chill, oh yea, sign me up for that. Exploring by foot proved to be just as great, I mean who doesn't like the sound of crunchy dead leaves under their feet?  I'd make a terrible hunter for the same reason I'm not invited back to a few golf courses, it's a noise pollution thing.

Thank you Diane and Michael for teaching, feeding and treating both of them with love, they had such a memorable time.
