Knoxville Soccer Tournament
Day 133
September 12, 2013
Team Zybko

Thrilled Lil David could meet up this weekend for a little old school family soccer time. He drove 3 hours late into the night to see his sister score, wrestle around Drex and get sweet baby La La sister love. Yea, all that and maybe a free lunch or two might of swayed him to another city. Times are tough these days, especially for a college student. Either way we we all lucky to spend some time with Davers. I hated to see him drive away back to the real world of adulthood.
We lost the first game, can't even remember the score at the moment. I do remember us looking better in previous games. We pretty much beat ourselves. That's ok, lessons were learned to take with us to the next field, several hours later in the hot TN sun.

Game two had a better outcome. 8-0

The third and final game early Sunday morning was more like Rugby than a U/12 Ladies soccer game. A few overlooked rough plays during the opening minutes set the tone for the rest of our life in the tournament. Our bruised up girls were out matched by brute muscle and how to use it legally shoulder to shoulder. They never gave up though. Giving it all they had, right down to the very last blow of the whistle.

This team is a great group of girls. Compassionate, fun, talented and encouraging to everyone around them. And that to me is like winning the entire weekend and more.
